Apparently the guys over at FreshRPMs offer a version of apt that works with RPM packages. What with Red Hat's asinine End-of-Life announcement, this might be the solution I need. It may be better than switching to KRUD even.
What's so assine about EOL'ing older products and platforms that don't sell well? :)
It's gonna be real fun patching that CorporateTime server at work manually. Even if Oracle gets CTime RH 8.0 approved soon, errata support will run out in December. 12 months is too short. And RH's updater won't work if you've installed a custom kernel, or added lots of stuff using tarballs.
