His flat panel? It's the department's, and the replacement he has is functionally identical (in every detectable respect; the timings are different between the two models, which is why I needed his Dell to match mine). Except for color, he'd have never noticed the difference (assuming that he could have figured out how to switch the input from DVI to analog on his own).

There ain't nothing karmic about it. He just has no taste. I blame MTV. The poor kid never had a chance. I even heard "You've got mail!" a couple times today. It made me weep a tiny tear. He's doomed.
