I just got done from a long day (two weeks, it seems) of working on a side project, and thought I'd finish the glass of wine that had been neglected since dinner 7 hours ago. While clicking around, I came across the venerable Meyers-Briggs Personality Test. I had to take that one again. My mom has always been a nut for pop psychology stuff, and I'd taken the MBTI test once before. I wondered if I've changed much in the last 22 years. Here's my score:
INTJ
Introverted Intuitive Thinking Judging
Strength of the preferences %
100 33 56 67
You are:
very expressed introvert
moderately expressed intuitive personality
moderately expressed thinking personality
distinctively expressed judging personality
Sounds nice and nebulous -- and exactly what I was when I first took the test.
They provide links to some analyses for the INTJ type. I didn't mind the touchy-feely one so much (I'm in there with Dan Akroyd and Donald Rumsfeld, after all), but the other one sounded pretty harsh. The last paragraph is dead-on, but they label they give that personality type annoys me. It does make it easy to see why nobody wants to play Scrabble with me. It can drag on there towards the end...
If you have the time, go take the test (it's a really short version) and lemme know what you are. Now, bedtime.
Ha, pegged you pretty well...
and 'towards the end'? bullshit...
We need a good 3 day weekend to blow playing RISK though. I've not played in years and years and years.....
Apparently, my Type is
ISTP
Introverted Sensing Thinking Perceiving
Strength of the preferences %
67 11 44 33
ISTP type description by J. Butt and M.M. Heiss
You are:
distinctively expressed introvert
slightly expressed sensing personality
moderately expressed thinking personality
moderately expressed perceiving personality
Dunno how much the description is accurate for me or not, really... I usually end up testing as kind of a muddled borderline on most of these types of tests.
ENFJ- Extrovert Intuitive Feeling Judging
56 11 67 22
I think some of the questions were tricksy. (And I feel I may have cheated.)
Posted by suzi at January 8, 2004 9:51 PMBah.. these tests are a crock of shit. We've taken them a few times at work too and they always make the descriptions and such vague enough to make everyone think they're at least "sorta" accurate. But I always notice that sure, I match some of what it says at some times, but not at others.
The only thing any of these test has ever said that I actually completely agreed with was one that said (more or less) "be sure to be straightforward with this person and ask for/tell what you want. Don't try to trick this person into doing something for you." I agree with that because anytime someone trys to trick me into doing something noone wants to do, it pisses me off.. makes me think people are trying to use psychology tricks on me which, much like the jedi mind trick, is something that I think implies a weak mind. I much prefer a person to just tell me right up front.. even if it's at work and it's work that noone wants to do but needs to be done, fine.. just tell me it's my turn to do it and I will.
Posted by Miguelito at January 11, 2004 9:02 PMI think it's funny that Suzi and I had exactly opposite results. =)
